Sometimes I wonder, “How in the world can the Father use me?” I am so flawed and have so many failures. I think to myself there is no way He can use me for His glory.
Then, I am reminded of those in the scriptures who were very flawed, yet the Father used them mightily for His glory. David, Moses, Paul, and the list could go on. These people were very flawed, yet the Father did use them. It’s not about us, it’s about being a repentant vessel that the Father can pour into.
We are human and we will sin. There is a difference in a life of sin and a moment of sin.
When we sin, we should repent of that and ask the Spirit to help us move forward. The Father wants people who are humble enough to confess their sin and recognize they cannot do it without His strength. Man looks at those who sin and wants to discard them. God looks at a child who needs correcting, but you are not discarded. You are His vessel and He wants to still use you.
So if you feel that He cannot use you because of your failures, grab the Bible and start at the beginning. You will see that He used those who repented of their sin for His glory each and every time.
Father, we are a flawed people. We know that without You we can do nothing. It is because of You that we breath and move. Help us to repent when we mess up. Give us the strength not to let the enemy beat us over the head with our confessed sin. We want to be used by You and to reach others for You. May we not get discouraged, but remember You look at the heart. Once we repent, we can be used by You. Help us to lay aside those sins that so easily beset us and go forward in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
