Growing In the Trenches

“The honeymon can’t last forever, honey.” That’s what I have heard many older wives tell the younger ones. After ten years of marriage, I can definitely agree with that. Honeymoons aren’t meant to last forever.

The easy times in life aren’t the times where we’ll grow. Our character can’t be tested if all we have our honeymoon days. The character of a husband and wife will be tested in the trials and in the valley.

We learn to truly be committed and faithful when it’s very hard. We learn what real love is during the trying times in our marriage.

The Father doesn’t take us in the valley without providing water and green grass though.

If you find yourself wondering why can’t marriage always be easy, just remember, the hard builds strong marriages if we allow it.

Father, thank You for our marriage. Thank You for using it to mold us to Your image. Even when we go through rough waters, steady us. Help us drink from Your well and hold on. May we let the trenches draw us closer to You and to one another. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
