We all have them. The moments, days, or even weeks that are horrible. Nothing and I mean nothing goes as planned. We just wish we could go back to sleep for longer than a normal person would. We will have moments that are so terrible that we wish we could forget them.

That doesn’t make you a bad parent, it makes you human.

Our kids will argue and whine,

We will mess up and yell,

Moments will get tense.

But we have to take a deep breath and cry out to the Lord for wisdom, strength, and direction. We’re raising little humans and it’s not going to be easy. The result will be beautiful, if we cling to the Father through it all.

You’re not a bad parent. You are His tool and vessel. Let Him fill You and use you.

Father, thank You for a new day, for Your mercy that’s new each morning. Help us to remember we are human, as well as our children. Help us to remember we will sin and mess up, but we can learn from it. We want to be a merciful and wise parent. Strengthen us for the calling You have placed before us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
