Bonding With Our Children

I love seeing our boys happy and having a good time. I love to see their eyes light up when they get a new toy. I love how they whoop with excitement about spending the night with grandparents. Though, I think what I love most is the love in their eyes when we spend time and bond with them. It’s hard to find the time to just play with them when so many (necessary) things are calling our name.

Spending time with them shows them we care.

It’s not convenient to carve out a little time each day to just bond with our children. Not teaching them, not giving them orders, or not lecturing them, but just playing with them. I spend a lot of time with our kids (all day seven days a week), but how much time do I actually get on their level? That’s what children desire, time.

They want us to play army men, race cars around the track, or play dress up with them. Just to know we like spending time with them can make all the difference in the world. Of course, they love toys, but it’s much better when we join in and play with their new toys. They love to show us their world and I think it’s good for us to remember the joy of childhood.

I encourage you to try and make time for your blessings, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Father, thank You for our children. Our days are full of so many things, but don’t let us forget what matters most. The memories we create with our children will impact them for the rest of their lives. Help us to carve our time for them. May we see life through their eyes and let them know we care for them. Give us a desire to invest into our children so they have a good foundation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

And whoever welcomes one child like this in My name welcomes Me.
