The Perfect Storm

Often times, we think that we need the perfect conditions to go forward with for certain decisions. We want this or that to be a just right. We’re waiting for the perfect timing. I’ve believed this concept for a long time. We absolutely should use wisdom in the decision making process, though there isn’t always perfect conditions.

Perfect conditions leave no room for the Master’s hand.

I know a lot of times I think if this or that can just happen then I can move forward. A lot of times, it’s fear that is holding us back from going forward with an idea. Fear can cripple us from walking through doors the Father has so graciously opened.

Fear of the unknown,

fear of failing,

fear of rejection.

We shouldn’t let fear hold us in bondage. We should gird ourselves with the armor of God and go forward. There may never be perfect conditions for the idea you have, but if you feel the Spirit leading you, then that’s all you need. Just because the Father is leading doesn’t mean you won’t have to resist fear. Think of Peter and how he walked on water. Self-preservation kills faith every time.

So don’t wait for perfect conditions if the Father is leading you, just walk on the water without fear.

Father, thank You for being our calm and our anchor. Life isn’t always set up how we desire. We can’t always have the conditions we desire in order to go forward. Help us to listen to You and follow Your Spirit. We desire to please You and do all that You want us too. Help us to resist fear and embrace faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Joshua 1:9
